DePaul Meets Marquette for Saturday Match

CHICAGO - Continuing with the longest home stand of the season, DePaul volleyball hosts Marquette on Saturday, Oct. 15. The match between the Blue Demons and Golden Eagles is set for a 6 p.m. CT start at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
Coming off a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll, Colleen Smith collected her 11th double-double of the season against Xavier on Wednesday. The senior setter leads the team with her 11 double-doubles and has recorded one in eight of the last nine matches.
Haley Bueser has posted the team high for digs in the last four matches for the Blue Demons. Bueser leads the team in BIG EAST matches with 102 digs, while adding eight service aces and 33 assists.
Five Blue Demons have cracked the 100-kill mark this year. Brittany Maxwell leads the group with 287 kills, followed by Myah Reed at 202 and Caitlyn Coffey with 172.

Last Time vs. Marquette
Jameson MacPhie paced the Blue Demon attack with 13 kills on Halloween last year, but DePaul dropped the conference match to Marquette, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-20). MacPhie's 13 kills and 49 attacks were career highs for the outside hitter. Jasmine King finished second on the team for kills with nine on 15 attacks. Colleen Smith ended the night with 33 assists and eight digs.
Scouting The Golden Eagles
Heading into the weekend, Marquette is ahead of DePaul for second in the conference standings with a 6-2 record after defeating Butler on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles at 16-4 overall are first in the BIG EAST for hitting percentage at .263 and are holding opponents to just .180. Taylor Louis is first in the BIG EAST for kills per set at 4.45 and second for points per set at 4.96. Defensively, Marquette is led by Jenna Rosenthal at the net with 1.28 blocks per set and 95 total blocks (both second in the BIG EAST) and Lauren Houg on the back line with a 5.07 digs per set average (second in the conference).
