Blue Demons Meet Butler in Midweek Action

CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team closes a three-match home stand with a midweek match against Butler on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at noon CT. Wednesday's match is the first of three matches for the Blue Demons this week.
Senior setter Colleen Smith has recorded double-doubles in her last five matches. Smith has eight double-doubles on the year, already besting last year's total.
Jameson MacPhie needs just one more kills to notch 100 on the year. She is one of five Blue Demons to carry a kills per set average of over 2.00. MacPhie totaled just 71 kills in 2015.
Jasmine King is first in the BIG EAST for hitting percentage at .397. The senior has 136 kills and just 38 errors over 247 attacks. Caitlyn Coffey and Brittany Maxwell join King in the top-four for conference hitting percentage.

Last Time vs. Butler
In the final match of the 2015 season, the DePaul volleyball team fell short of a road comeback against Butler on Nov. 21, 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19). Jasmine King, fresh off a spot on the BIG EAST honor roll, tallied a team-high 15 kills. Caitlyn Coffey notched 13 kills. Colleen Smith finished the night with a double-double, her second in two nights, after she collected 48 assists and 10 digs.
Scouting The Bulldogs
Butler comes into Chicago at 2-2 in the BIG EAST and 13-7 overall. The Bulldogs split last weekend with a sweep of Providence and being swept by Creighton. Butler is led by Anna Logan who is first in the BIG EAST with 4.62 kills per set. She has almost 100 more kills than any other student-athlete in the BIG EAST. The Bulldogs are third in the BIG EAST for assists per set at 12.95, blocks at 2.23 per set and opponent hitting percentage at .179.
