DePaul Faces Southeast Missouri Monday

CHICAGO - DePaul continues the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic with a Monday night game against Southeast Missouri State. The Blue Demons defeated Chicago State on Saturday to open the event and travel to Las Vegas following the Southeast Missouri game for two games on Thursday and Friday at Orleans Arena.
Monday's game will be televised on FS1 with Jeff Levering (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) handling the television duties. The game can also be seen online and on mobile devices via FOX Sports Go. DePaul's radio tandem of Zach Zaidman (play-by-play) and Jeff Blanzy (analyst) can be heard on WYLL 1160 AM and online on BlueTube at www.depaulbluedemons.com. Southeast Missouri stands at 4-7 following a 71-66 loss at Missouri State on Saturday. The Blue Demons are 6-4 to start the 2016-17 campaign after a 109-61 win against Chicago State on Wednesday at Allstate Arena. Head coach Dave Leitao is in his fifth season at DePaul and his second since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2016-17 campaign is Leitao's 11th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Southeast Missouri is led by Rick Ray who is in his second season leading the Redhawks.
Following Monday's game, DePaul faces Wyoming on Thursday in Las Vegas. The final two games of the event will be played at Orleans Arena on Dec. 22 and 23. DePaul opens play in Las Vegas against Wyoming before playing either Missouri State or USC. All games in the event will be televised on FS1.
Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,434-968 (.597) all-time... the 82-61 win over No. 20/20 George Washington on Dec. 22, 2015 was win No. 1,425 since start of 1923-24 season... according to ESPN, DePaul's margin of victory over No. 20/20 George Washington was the largest in program history as an unranked team over a ranked opponent... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 717 straight games... The Opponent - Southeast Missouri State Redhawks: Southeast Missouri State enters Monday's game at 4-7 following a 71-66 loss at Missouri State on Saturday... the game was the first for the Redhawks in the Las Vegas Classic... Southeast Missouri has dropped four straight games after an 87-63 win against Central Arkansas on Dec. 1... Antonius Cleveland leads the team with 16.7 points per game... Trey Kellum adds a scoring average of 12.5 with a team-high 6.7 rebounds per contest... Stephen Howard (1988-92) holds the program record with 528 career free throws... with six assists, Garrett (357 assists) passes Dave Corzine (360 assists, 1974-78) for 12th all-time.

- The game was DePaul's first with 100 points since a 102-95 win over Chicago State on Dec. 10, 2011... the Blue Demons have scored at least 100 points in 71 games.
- The 48-point margin of victory was the largest since a 107-69 win over Youngstown State on Nov. 25, 2001.

DePaul University played its first season at the then-named Rosemont Horizon in 1980. The Blue Demons debuted in Rosemont with a 74-56 win over Gonzaga and John Stockton on Dec. 1, 1980. The first of DePaul's final 15 games in Rosemont was Nov. 17 against Rutgers in the Gavitt Tipoff Games.
DePaul's game at Allstate Arena against Chicago State on Dec. 5 was the 500th game in program history at the facility. Of the 516 games played in the arena, DePaul head coach Dave Leitao has coached in 65 games. He holds a record of 46-19 (.708) in Rosemont.
New Home on the Horizon: Wintrust Arena is set to host DePaul basketball starting in the 2017-18 season. The 10,387-seat arena near McCormick Place in the South Loop area of the city is a joint project between the City of Chicago, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, and DePaul University.
