Blue Demons Meet Cowboys in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - DePaul continues the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic in Las Vegas with a Thursday night game against Wyoming. The contest is the first of an evening doubleheader at Orleans Arena with Missouri State and USC to play in the second game. The two Thursday winners will play on Friday following the consolation game.
Both games will be televised on FS1 with Justin Kutcher (play-by-play) and Steve Lavin (analyst) handling the television duties. The game can also be seen online and on mobile devices via FOX Sports Go. DePaul's radio tandem of Zach Zaidman (play-by-play) and Laurence Holmes (analyst) can be heard on WYLL 1160 AM on Thursday and WSCR 670 AM on Friday as well as online on BlueTube at www.depaulbluedemons.com. Wyoming stands at 9-2 following a 72-66 win against Troy on Monday. The Blue Demons are 7-4 to start the 2016-17 campaign after an 81-78 win against Southeast Missouri State on Monday at Allstate Arena. DePaul opened the event with a 109-61 win over Chicago State on Saturday. Head coach Dave Leitao is in his fifth season at DePaul and his second since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2016-17 campaign is Leitao's 11th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Wyoming is led by Allen Edwards who is in his first season leading the Cowboys.
Following Thursday's game, DePaul faces either Missouri State or USC on Friday in the final game of the tournament. The final two games of the event will be played at Orleans Arena on Dec. 22 and 23.
Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,435-968 (.597) all-time... the 82-61 win over No. 20/20 George Washington on Dec. 22, 2015 was win No. 1,425 since start of 1923-24 season... according to ESPN, DePaul's margin of victory over No. 20/20 George Washington was the largest in program history as an unranked team over a ranked opponent... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 718 straight games... The Blue Demons went on to win that game by a score of 77-75. The 15-point deficit was the largest deficit overcome since DePaul trailed by 16 against USF on Feb. 9, 2008. The Redhawks stormed back and led, 38-33, at halftime. Southeast Missouri increased its lead to as high as 14 points with 13:39 left in the game before DePaul took a 62-60 lead with 7:42 left on a layup by R.J. Curington.
