DePaul Meets Missouri State in Las Vegas Classic

LAS VEGAS - DePaul concludes its four-game run in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic with a Friday evening game against Missouri State in the consolation game. Both teams dropped their third game of the event on Thursday. The Blue Demons started the event with wins at Allstate Arena over Chicago State and Southeast Missouri State. DePaul dropped a 72-58 decision to Wyoming last night at Orleans Arena.
Friday's game will be televised on FS1 with Justin Kutcher (play-by-play) and Steve Lavin (analyst) handling the television duties. The game can also be seen online and on mobile devices via FOX Sports Go. DePaul's radio tandem of Zach Zaidman (play-by-play) and Laurence Holmes (analyst) can be heard on WSCR 670 AM as well as online on BlueTube at www.depaulbluedemons.com. Missouri State stands at 8-4 following an 83-75 loss against #23/25 USC on Thursday. The Blue Demons are 7-5 to start the 2016-17 campaign after the loss to Wyoming on Thursday. Head coach Dave Leitao is in his fifth season at DePaul and his second since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2016-17 campaign is Leitao's 11th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Missouri State is led by Paul Lusk who is in his sixth season leading the Bears.
Following Friday's game, DePaul opens BIG EAST play at top-ranked Villanova. The Blue Demons travel to Villanova on Wednesday, Dec. 28 for the game on FS1 and WSCR 670 AM.
Second Time Around: DePaul and Missouri State are meeting for the second time this season... a Billy Garrett Jr. jumper just before the buzzer led DePaul to a 68-66 win on Nov. 23 at Allstate Arena...
