Men's Tennis Falls to No. 68 Purdue

CHICAGO- The DePaul's men's tennis team started off its match against No. 68 Purdue strong, but fell to the Boilermakers 4-3.
The Blue Demons (2-5) clinched wins in the doubles round, but weren't able to get the final point in singles. Jan-Willem Feilzer led DePaul, notching wins in singles and doubles.
Feilzer paired with Alex Galoustian at No. 2 to defeat Dominik Sochurek and Ricky Medinilla 6-3. Feilzer then matched up against Arthur Dobradin at No. 5 singles for a 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 win.
Conor O'Meara and Paul John competed at No. 1 doubles together for the first time this season and recorded a 6-3 victory over Gergely Madarasz and Benjamin Ugarte. Sten Leusink and Nathan de Veer's match against Mateus Silva and Dobradin went unfinished.
De Veer was the lone DePaul player besides Feilzer to win in singles. At No. 4, the junior defeated Sochurek 6-3, 6-4.
Leusink fell at No. 1 6-2, 6-3 to Madarasz, Galoustian 6-3, 6-3 to Ugarte at No. 2 and John to Medinilla at No. 3 6-0, 7-6 (5). Freshman Ivan Divkovic saw the court for the first time this season, but fell at No. 6 6-1, 6-1 to Silva.
DePaul heads up to Wisconsin next to take on another BIG TEN opponent, the Badgers on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m.
