
Men's Tennis Falls to South Carolina State

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The DePaul men's tennis team fell 6-1 to South Carolina State Thursday afternoon in Charleston, South Carolina.
DePaul (5-13) started the match strong by claiming doubles competition, but the Bulldogs (5-5) responded by sweeping the Blue Demons in singles play.
At No. 1 doubles, Paul John and Conor O'Meara defeated Martin Figura and Jakub Vitek 6-3. Jan-Willem Feilzer and Alex Galoustian followed with a 6-2 win at No. 3 against Edgar Diaz and Stanislav Baco. The No. 2 match between Sten Leusink and Kyle Johnson and Vladyslav Yanchenko and Marko Jereminov went unfinished.
In singles action, Leusink matched up at No. 1 with Figura, falling 6-2, 6-4. At No. 2, Galoustian challenged, but fell to Vitek 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 (8). Johnson faced Yanchenko again at No. 3, but fell 6-4, 6-1. Cyprian Owczarz defeated John at No. 4 1-6, 7-5, 10-7. At No. 5, O'Meara fell to Aleksander Stupar 6-4, 6-4 while Tim Corwin lost to Diaz 6-2, 6-1.
The Blue Demons match against the Bulldogs was their last away competition of the regular season. DePaul returns to Lincoln Park to finish the rest of its regular season at home on the courts of the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Center.
On Saturday, Apr. 2, DePaul takes on Chicago State.
