
Men's Tennis Completes Weekend Sweep

CHICAGO - Coming off a win over Green Bay on Friday, DePaul men's tennis defeated Detroit Saturday night, 6-1. The Blue Demons moved to 3-0 on the year, while Detroit fell to 0-2.
In doubles action, Nathan de Veer and Alex Galoustian made quick work of their Detroit counterparts Patryk Koscielski and Artem Vasheshnikov at No. 1 doubles, 6-2. At No. 3 doubles, the team of Fran Tonejc and Christopher Casati clinched the doubles point for DePaul by defeating Detroit's pair 6-3.
Moving to singles play, de Veer at No. 1 and Galoustian at No. 2 carried over momentum to each earn a singles victory for DePaul. Both Blue Demons had to overcome early deficits before clinching their points.
At No. 4 singles, Tim Corwin grabbed the victory over Ismail Kadyrov after winning the first set 6-2.
Both Casati and Tonejc won their singles matches in straight sets. Casati on No. 5 won 6-2, 7-5 and Tonejc at No. 6 cruised to the win by scores of 6-2, 6-4.
The Blue Demons continue their home match stretch against Chicago State on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7:15 p.m. CT. Friday's match marks the fourth of six straight home matches for DePaul.
