CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team travels back to the east coast this weekend. The Blue Demons will match up with Seton Hall and St. John's on the road. The Pirates are set for a 5 p.m. start on Friday, Oct. 27 at Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, NJ. Following on Saturday, Oct. 28, DePaul will face the Red Storm at 3 p.m. in Queens, NY , Carnesecca Arena.
Brittany Maxwell looks to challenge the 100th career kill, standing at 930 kills overall. Currently, Maxwell holds the sixth most kills in the BIG EAST at 297 kills for this season.
Other Blue Demons standing in the top 10 BIG EAST stats include Haley Bueser, Caitlyn Coffey, and Kelsey Horvath. Bueser is ranked second in the BIG EAST with 339 digs. Coffey locks in BIG EAST spot number eight with 83 blocks and number 10 with a .294 hitting %. Horvath owns 601 season assists to place eighth in the BIG EAST.
Last Time vs. Seton Hall
The DePaul volleyball team fell to Seton Hall, 3-0 (23-25, 23-25, 20-25) on Saturday, Sept. 23 at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Kelsey Horvath racked up 34 assists. Haley Bueser led DePaul with 14 digs. Brittany Maxwell contributed a team-high of 13 kills and 27 digs.
Scouting The Pirates
Seton Hall hosts DePaul with a current record of (13-11, 7-4 BIG EAST). The Pirates look to improve their 10-8 BIG EAST record and fourth place finish from last season's tournament. Last week, Dominique Mason and Abby Thelen were named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll. Seton Hall will face DePaul on Friday, Oct. 27 and Marquette on Saturday, Oct 28.
Last Time vs. St. John's
The DePaul volleyball team defeated St. John's, 3-2 (17-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 15-11), in the BIG EAST home opener on Friday, Sept. 22 at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Claire Anderson led all players with 22 kills for DePaul. Kelsey Horvath contributed a team-high 47 assists. Haley Bueser racked up 27 digs to top the match.
Scouting The Red Storm
St. John's enters the Saturday contest with a (12-14, 4-7 BIG EAST) record. DePaul is 5-14 with the Red Storm. This week, Amanda Sanabia was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after earning 4.88 digs per set in a pair of matches last week. St. John's will play Marquette on Friday, Oct. 27 before welcoming the Blue Demons on Saturday, Oct. 28.
