Blue Demons Host Marquette in Season Finale

CHICAGO - The DePaul men's soccer team will host Marquette in the Blue Demons' season finale on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at noon.
DePaul (4-11-2, 1-6-1 BIG EAST) looks to snap its seven-match winless streak against the Golden Eagles at Wish Field on Wednesday. The duo of Philipp Konigstein and Stijn van der Slot, who have combined for 11 of DePaul's 17 goals in 2017, will lead the Blue Demons into their matchup with Marquette.
In 17 matches, the Blue Demons have scored on 17 occasions, firing off 233 shots on the season. Konigstein leads DePaul with six goals and 14 points, adding two assists to his tally. Between the posts, Quentin Low will man the goal for the last time in his storied collegiate career with the Blue Demons. In 2017, Low made 70 saves and has allowed 26 goals while posting a .729 save percentage.While DePaul's 2-0 loss to Creighton last Saturday eliminated the Blue Demons' opportunity of participating in post-season play, head coach Craig Blazer and crew are primed to battle in their border-bash rivalry with Marquette on Wednesday.
Marquette (3-10-2, 3-4-1 BIG EAST) dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 21 Butler in its home finale on Oct. 28. Like DePaul, the Golden Eagles have notched 17 goals on the season where nine different players have recorded a score. Marquette is led by Grant Owens with four goals while Connor Alba leads his squad with 10 points on three goals and four assists.
The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series against DePaul 25-5-1.
