CHICAGO - Head coach Nadia Edwards and the DePaul volleyball team will continue their travel series this weekend. The Blue Demons will face Providence in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. With a day of travel, the squad will then head back Midwest to Creighton in Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
Brittany Maxwell looks to challenge the 100th career kill, standing at 955 kills overall. Currently, Maxwell holds the sixth most kills in the BIG EAST at 297 kills for this season.
Other Blue Demons standing in the top 10 BIG EAST stats include Haley Bueser, Caitlyn Coffey, and Kelsey Horvath. Bueser is ranked second in the BIG EAST with 339 digs. Coffey locks in BIG EAST spot number eight with 83 blocks and number 10 with a .294 hitting %. Horvath owns 601 season assists to place eighth in the BIG EAST.
Last Time vs. Providence
The DePaul volleyball team fell to Providence, 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 19-25), on Saturday, Oct. 7 at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Maxwell led the Blue Demons with 15 kills and 31 attacks to get 16.0 match points. Kelsey Horvath added a team high 27 assists. Isabelle Banez racked up 10 digs to close the match.
Scouting The Friars
Providence goes into the second DePaul contest this season with a (15-12, 4-8 BIG EAST) record. The Friars dropped home matches to Creighton on Friday, Oct. 27 and on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Friars are now 8-5 at home, after hosting six straight matches. The BIG EAST standings puts Providence at seventh, just one spot ahead of the Blue Demons.

The DePaul volleyball team fell to #12 Creighton, 3-0 (10-25, 9-25, 13-25), on Friday, Oct. 6 at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Myah Reed claimed 22 attacks to help DePaul. Maxwell led the Blue Demons with five kills on the game. Kelsey Horvath contributed a team high 12 assists.
Scouting The Blue Jays
The No. 16 Creighton volleyball team welcomes the Blue Demons after sweeping Providence twice last weekend. Middle blocker Marysa Wilkinson was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The Blue Jays hold the best record in the BIG EAST (18-5, 11-1 BIG EAST) after winning seven straight matches. Sunday's match will honor the Creighton volleyball seniors.
