"Brittany certainly expanded her role on this team this season, transitioning to a six-rotation Right Side attacker. She was not only our top point-scorer, but became our number one out-of-system option as the season progressed," said Coach Nadia Edwards. "She was able to score points from the front and back row and made adjustments when other teams keyed in on her, and really showed some consistent play this season. This is a well-deserved recognition."
NEW YORK - The BIG EAST Conference announced its annual awards on Wednesday, honoring DePaul's Brittany Maxwell with All-BIG EAST Second Team honors. Maxwell earned her 1,000th career kill at last Saturday's match against Marquette.
Maxwell was honored this season with 2017 Preseason ALL-BIG EAST Honors and BIG EAST Weekly Honors accolades. Her impressive 1,000th kill benchmark as only a junior leaves much potential. The Macomb, Mich. native ended the 2017 season with 381 kills, earning her 1,014 overall career kills. Her season total ranks sixth in the BIG EAST season kills category.
