DePaul Meets Portland in PK80 Finale

PORTLAND, Ore. - DePaul and Portland meet Sunday afternoon in the final day of the PK80 in Portland, Ore. The contest is scheduled for a 4 p.m. PT start at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Sunday's game will be televised on ESPNU with Kevin Brown (play-by-play) and Sean Farnham (analyst) handling the television duties. The game can also be seen online and on mobile devices with WatchESPN. DePaul's radio tandem of Jordan Bernfield (play-by-play) and Dave Corzine (analyst) can be heard on WYLL 1160 AM as well as online on BlueTube at www.depaulbluedemons.com.
Portland is 2-3 through five games with wins over Walla Walla and Oregon Tech. DePaul head coach Dave Leitao is in his sixth season at DePaul and his third since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2017-18 campaign is Leitao's 12th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Portland is led by Terry Porter who is in his second season leading the Pilots.
The game is the sixth between the two programs. DePaul has the won the previous five meetings. Sunday is the first matchup since a 77-64 win for the Blue Demons in Chicago on Feb. 19, 1965. DePaul dropped a 73-51 decision to No. 4/5 Michigan State on Thursday followed by an 89-79 loss in overtime to Oregon on Friday. Portland has dropped games against No. 9/9 North Carolina (102-78) and Oklahoma (93-71) in tournament play.
Following Sunday's game to conclude the PK80, the Blue Demons return to Wintrust Arena on Saturday, Dec. 2 against Youngstown State. The Blue Demons play seven straight games in Chicago that include six at Wintrust Arena and one game at UIC.
