Men's Tennis Wins Over Monmouth

CHICAGO - The DePaul men's tennis team defeated Monmouth 6-1 Friday evening on the courts of Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
The win marks the Blue Demons (5-0) best start of the dual season since 2014-15.
The Hawks fall 0-4 on the season.
Nathan de Veer, Christopher Casati and Fran Tonejc led DePaul with wins in both of their events.
The freshmen duo of Tonejc and Casati started the Blue Demons' run with a 6-2 win over Sam Bellersen and Vikrant Dahiya at No. 3. de Veer and Alex Galoustian followed with a 6-4 mark at the No. 1 spot over Przemyslaw Filipek and Ale Gomez-Estrada to win their fourth-straight match.
In singles, Boris Spanjaard clinched the first point for DePaul at No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Gomez-Estrada.
Tim Corwin and de Veer extended their singles win to five in their respective spots. Corwin recorded a 6-2, 6-1 finish over Alberto Giuffrida at No. 4. de Veer followed with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Nicola Pipoli at No. 1.
Casati came back to take a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over at Christian Vieira at No. 5 while Tonejc battled to notch a tight 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 mark over Dahiya at No. 5.
The Blue Demons are back at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness on Saturday, Feb. 11 to take on Lewis University at 4:15. The match will conclude DePaul's six-match homestand.
