CHICAGO - DePaul men's tennis extended its undefeated record at home on Friday night with a 7-0 sweep over Illinois State at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
With the win, DePaul (9-5) owns its best start on its home court since 2015.
All of the Blue Demons doubles spots etched a win for the first point of the match. The No. 1 and No. 3 spots each tallied a 6-2 mark for a win. Nathan de Veer and Alex Galoustian teamed at No. 1 to defeat Urh Krajnc Domiter and Matias Chomali, while Fran Tonejc and Christopher Casati clinched the win at No. 3 against Andreas Boers and Egehan Sertkaya. Tim Corwin and Boris Spanjaard defeated Dylan Steffens and Peter Foersom at No. 2 6-5.
In singles, three Blue Demons took the Redbirds to three sets to notch their respective points. Galoustian played No. 1 singles for the first time this season to beat Krajnc Domiter 5-7, 6-2, 6-3. de Veer played No. 2 and marked a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Steffens. Corwin concluded with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 win over Sertkaya at No. 5.
Up next, DePaul takes on South Dakota St. on Friday, March 17 at 7:17 p.m. at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
