
Men's Tennis Sweeps South Dakota St.

CHICAGO - The DePaul men's tennis team extended its undefeated record at home to eight with a 7-0 sweep over South Dakota St. on Friday evening at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
DePaul (10-5) now owns a two-match win streak with the win and is 5-5 in its last 10.
In doubles action, the Blue Demons quickly earned the point with wins at all three spots. Tim Corwin and Boris Spanjaard started the action with a 6-1 finish over Emerson Styles and Chuck Tang at No. 2. Another 6-1 score was added at No. 1 by Alex Galoustian and Nathan de Veer who defeated Jonny Hingham and Marco Castro. Fran Tonejc and Christopher Casati bested Gabrial Santos and Lucas Pereira at No. 3 6-3.
DePaul carried its doubles success over to singles play.
Notably, Casati recorded his fourth win a row with a 6-3, 6-1 finish over Santos at No. 4.
Galoustian played at the top spot for the second match in a row to defeat Styles 6-1, 6-2, while de Veer notched his15th overall win with a 6-2, 6-1 mark over Higham at No. 2.
Corwin played the No. 6 spot for the first time this season to earn a 6-3, 6-0 win over Pereira.
The Blue Demons return competition on Saturday to take on No. 37 Notre Dame at the Eck Tennis Pavilion at 5 p.m.
