
Blue Demons Come Up Short at College of Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. - DePaul men's tennis fell 4-3 to the College of Charleston on Thursday evening.
DePaul (11-8) clinched the doubles point, but came up short in singles action.
Fran Tonejc and Christopher Casati started the Blue Demons off with a 6-2 finish over Vasily Kichigin and Franz Sydow at No. 3. Boris Spanjaard and Tim Corwin followed with a 6-3 win at No. 2 against Benedikt Henning and Alec Angradi.
In singles, Casati won DePaul's second point at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Jake Kusmider.
Spanjaard recorded the third point after besting Rodrigo Encinas at No. 4 7-5, 7-6 (5), but College of Charleston clinched match point at No. 3 singles.
DePaul returns to the court on Friday, March 31 at 11 a.m. CT to take on Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. The Blue Demons play away from their home court until their final regular season match of the year on Saturday, March 22 against Cleveland State at 6:15 p.m.
