
Blue Demons Drop Match to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa - DePaul men's tennis fell 7-0 to Iowa on Friday afternoon at the Hawkeye Tennis Complex.
Iowa clinched the doubles points with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 over DePaul (11-9). Jonas Larsen and Jake Jacoby defeated Alex Galoustian and Nathan de Veer 6-4 at No. 1, while Nils Hallestrand and Josh Silverstein snapped Fran Tonejc and Christopher's five-match win streak with a 6-3 finish at No. 3.
In singles, Galoustian battled Jacoby at No. 3, but ultimately fell 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).
Boris Spanjaard played No. 5 singles for the first time this season, but lost to Nils Hallestrand 6-2, 6-2.
Larsen defeated Tim Corwin at No. 2 6-3, 6-2, while Christopher Casati fell at No. 4 6-3, 6-4 to Robin Haden.
Fran Tonejc dropped his match at No. 6 to Jason Kerst 7-5, 6-3.
The Blue Demons wrap of their final three road matches of the season all at BIG EAST schools beginning with Butler on Friday, April 1 at 1 p.m. CT. DePaul then heads to Xavier for a 9 a.m. match on Sunday, April 9 in Cinncanti. The squad's final BIG EAST and away match takes place at Marquette in Milwaukee, Wis. on Friday, April 21 at 6 p.m.
