
Blue Demons Top Marquette 4-3

MILWAUKEE - DePaul men's tennis claimed four singles points to top Marquette 4-3 on Friday evening at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
DePaul (14-9, 3-0 BIG EAST) remains undefeated in BIG EAST action heading into the conference tournament next weekend.
After the Golden Eagles grabbed the doubles point, Boris Spanjaard and Christopher Casati claimed wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to put the Blue Demons up 2-1.
Spanjaard defeated Brett Meyers 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5, while Casati topped Nick Dykema 6-4, 6-3.
Marquette tied it up again with a win at No. 2, but Fran Tonejc claimed the win at No. 6 over Andre Romanello 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Nathan de Veer notched the final point in three-set fashion with a 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 finish at the top spot over Alvaro Verdu.
DePaul heads back to Lakeshore Sport & Fitness for a 6:15 p.m. match tomorrow against Cleveland State. The event marks Senior Day and the last regular season match of the season for the Blue Demons.
