A fielder's choice allowed the Wildcats third run right after, while a double from Jordan Olivarez tallied three RBI for the final runs of the inning.
Krista Dalgarn replaced Garcia in the circle for the remainder of the game at the start of the second. She struck out two, walked one and allowed one earned run (two unearned) on five hits in the 23 batters she faced.
In the third with Cothern on second and two outs, Haydn Christensen notched a RBI double for Cothern to score DePaul's final run of the game.
