Blue Demons face off against Wildcats at Cacciatore Stadium
CHICAGO – DePaul softball is set to host local opponent Northwestern on Wednesday, April 8, as the Wildcats travel to Lincoln Park for a midweek matchup at Cacciatore Stadium.

- DePaul enters the midweek matchup at 13-24 overall and 4-11 in BIG EAST play after going a weekend series against St. John's at Cacciatore Stadium in which the Blue Demons picked up a 5-1 win in the series finale.
- As a team, the Blue Demons rank second in the BIG EAST with 58 stolen bases on the season for an average of 1.54 per game, the third-highest mark in the conference.
- Sophomore outfielder Jolie Adams leads DePaul with a .432 batting average, the second-best in the BIG EAST.
- Adams is coming off a strong weekend, hitting .625 against St. John's.
- DePaul's offense features five hitters batting above the .300 mark, led by Adams and followed by Chelsea Parker at .363, Morgan Rogers at .356, Emersyn Coulter at .344, and Alexis Houge at .306.
- Sophomore right hander Hannah Messer has made 27 appearances in the circle, the second-most in the BIG EAST, posting a 4.91 ERA with 49 strikeouts to lead the DePaul pitching staff.
- Northwestern is17-18 overall and 5-7 in Big Ten play after dropping a 2-1 series to Michigan in Rosemont over the weekend.
- The Wildcats have four hitters batting above .300, led by junior Emma Raye, who paces the group with a .344 average along with eight home runs, 16 extra-base hits, and 35 RBIs, followed by Kelsey Nader at .324, Kaylie Avvisato at .321, and Grace Neito at .304.
- Freshman Marina Mason leads Northwestern in the circle with a 2.43 ERA and an 8-8 record across 20 appearances.
- Head coach Kate Drohan is in her 24th season leading the Wildcats.
- Northwestern leads the all-time series against DePaul, 44-20.
- DePaul fell to Northwestern 3-1 last season in Evanston.
