Track & Field Places 24 on All-BIG EAST Teams

NEW YORK - The DePaul track & field program totaled 24 different student-athletes on the Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-BIG EAST Teams, announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
Both the DePaul men's and women's teams placed 12 members on each team, surpassing last year's outdoor total of 18. In 2016, the men had 10 student-athletes on the list, while the women placed eight.
To make it onto the All-BIG EAST Team, a student-athlete needed to finish in the top three for any individual or relay event at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend.
Sebastian Feyersinger, the Co-Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet, was one of only three BIG EAST men's student-athletes to make the All-Conference Team for four events. The BIG EAST Champion in the 200m and 400m took his spot for the 200m, 400m, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay events.
On the women's side, DePaul had four student-athletes named to the All-BIG EAST list for more than one event. Seniors Gabrielle Howard and Shayna Nwokenkwo and sophomores Alexia Harvey and Laura Edwards earned the All-BIG EAST honor for multiple events.
Trevor Kintyhtt, BIG EAST Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet, claimed an all-conference accolade for three events (shot put and champion in the discus and hammer). Kintyhtt was joined by teammate and BIG EAST champion in the shot put Kyle Hedge on the list for multiple throwing events.
Other DePaul women's team members to make the list are Simone Carr (4x400 relay), Rutendo Chimbaru (4x400 relay), Rebecca Chouinard (hammer), Ariel Davis (4x400 relay), Emily Eller (shot put), Corinne Franz (BIG EAST champion in discus), Caroline Muller (high jump) and Jessica Watkins (400m).
For the men, Chaz Bottoms (4x100 relay and 4x400 relay), Kyle Decker (BIG EAST champion in 110m hurdles), Jarvis Hill (400m hurdles and 4x400 relay), Isaac Jimenez (shot put), Brian Mada (BIG EAST champion in triple jump), Dominic Marshall (hammer), Adam Nelson (4x100 relay), Xavier Taylor (long jump) and Isaac Walker (4x100 relay and 4x400 relay).
The DePaul track & field teams now await the qualifying lists for the NCAA West Preliminaries in Austin, Texas. The West Prelims are scheduled to take place May 25 through May 27.
