Women's Tennis Home Opener Friday Night

CHICAGO - After competing in six tournaments last fall and opening the spring portion of their schedule last weekend at the IU Winter Invite in Bloomington, Ind., the Blue Demons are ready for the dual match season.
It all begins on Friday with the home opener against Saint Louis at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness located at 1320 W. Fullerton Ave.
This will commence a regular-season schedule that will include 18 dual matches along with an appearance at the Gopher Ice Volleys Feb. 3-4 in Minneapolis.
Following Friday's match, coach Mark Ardizzone and his team will head north to Jackson, Wis. for a dual match against Milwaukee.
Last weekend, freshman Alina Kuzmenkova went 2-0 in singles play at Indiana's Winter Invite while Marija Jovicic, Patricia Lancranjan, Milica Tesic and Keisha Clousing all went 1-1.
In doubles, Clousing paired with Lenka Antonijevic to go 3-2 including a sweep of their matches on Saturday. Jovicic and Lancranjan won their only doubles match while the Jovicic-Tesic duo went 1-1.
