Women’s Tennis Lands Three on CSC Academic All-District Team

Sechi, Smith and Stula honored for on court and classroom performance
CHICAGO – Three DePaul women's tennis student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Team in recognition of their performance in the classroom and on the court.
Roberta Sechi, Hannah Smith and Sasha Stula all earned accolades for the Blue Demons. Smith collected All-District honors for the second time in her career, while Sechi and Stula were recognized for the first time.
Eligible nominees must compete in at least 75 percent of an institution's contests while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Sechi totaled a 14-8 record in dual matches this season, including a 6-1 mark against BIG EAST opponents. The 14 victories are a career best for the junior captain. The Sassari, Italy native owns a 3.8 GPA while pursuing a degree in Communications and Media.
Smith capped a stellar career in Lincoln Park by leading the Blue Demons back to the BIG EAST title match in 2026. She went 18-16 in singles action, setting a career best in singles victories. In doubles play, Smith and partner Clara Nilsson were dominant at No. 1, going 5-2 against league foes and totaling a 13-9 overall record. Smith is set to graduate with a degree in Sports Business in June and owns a near-perfect 3.90 GPA.
A unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team honoree, Stula continued to shine on and off the court. The junior went 15-4 in 2026, recording the most dual wins for a Blue Demon since 2016. She defeated a pair of ranked opponents this season en route to posting the most wins at No. 1 singles in a season for the program since 2013. The Gifu, Japan native is studying Sports Business and has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.76.
