Cross Country to End Regular Season at Bradley Pink Classic

CHICAGO – After a strong start to the 2018 season, the DePaul men's and women's cross country teams travel in-state to the Bradley Pink Classic to close out the regular season. The meet will be held at the Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill. on Friday, Oct. 12. The women are set for a 3:15 p.m. start for the 6k race. The men will take off at 4:00 p.m. for the 8k competition.

The Blue Demon squad will compete against over 50 teams from across the nation. The pack of runners will feature competitors from Iowa, Western Illinois, IUPUI, Bradley and BIG EAST rivals Marquette and Xavier. The course will also serve as the site of competition for the NCAA Midwest Regionals.

Sophomore Charlie McIntyre, who is the leading returner for the men's team in this race, was a top-five Blue Demon finisher last year with a time of 26:45.1. The women's team returns four of their top five finishers from the Bradley Pink Classic last October.

Newcomer Maret Elgren looks to build off her momentum as she was the top finisher at the Loyola Lakefront Invite and has been a top-three finisher for the women's team this season. Senior Noah Deck looks to finish out his last regular season with a bang as he also paced the Blue Demons at Montrose Beach and has finished in the top three for the Blue Demons in the races in which he has competed.
