DePaul looks to continue strong play following SIUE Dolenc Invite
CHICAGO – The DePaul golf team continues the fall portion of the 2018-19 schedule with the Flyer Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The event features two rounds on Monday followed by a final round on Tuesday at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
A total of 12 teams will play the South Course at NCR Country Club with DePaul facing host Dayton along with Bowling Green, Bradley, Cleveland State, Davidson, Illinois State, Marshall, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne and Wright State.
Competing for the Blue Demons this week are Charlie Spencer-White, Joe McCarthy, Grant Boyson, Perry Chong and Campbell Wolf. The South Course features a par 71 layout over 7,100 yards with both days starting at 9 a.m. ET.
Fall Recap: EKU Intercollegiate – Campbell Wolf led DePaul in his first collegiate event... Wolf (214, 4) finished in a tie for 13th... Joe McCarthy posted the best round by a Blue Demon with a 69 (-1) in the second round... DePaul finished 14th out of 15 teams. SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational – Joe McCarthy (213, E) and Campbell Wolf (214, 1) posted top 20 finishes to lead DePaul... McCarthy finished in a tie for seventh while Wolf was in a group in 11th place... as a team, the Blue Demons finished sixth among the 17 programs.
Looking Ahead: The Blue Demons have two more fall events following this week's Flyer Invitational. DePaul plays at Xavier's Muskies Classic on Oct. 22-23 before a match against Loyola-Chicago concludes the fall schedule. The final event of the fall schedule is a match against Loyola-Chicago on Oct. 29. The spring slate opens on Feb. 11-12 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play hosted by Ball State in Dade City, Fla.
