Blue Demons Roll Past UIC 7-0

Every Blue Demon that took the court came away with a positive result in DePaul's 7-0 sweep of intra-city rival Illinois-Chicago.
DePaul (12-5) has now won six of its last eight matches.
The Alex Galoustian/Boris Spanjaard combo got the Blue Demons off to a good start with their doubles victory at No. 1. After UIC (2-6) evened the score with a win at No. 3 doubles, the reliable tandem of Tripp Tuff and Conor O'Meara secured the point with a 6-4 win over the Flames No. 2 doubles team.
Tuff and O'Meara are now 9-2 in the dual-match season and 12-2 overall.
Tuff followed up by scoring the first singles point in straight sets at No. 4 and settled back to watch teammates Tamas Zador (No. 3 singles) and Boris Spanjaard (No. 2 singles) follow his lead. Spanjaard's 6-2, 7-5 victory over Johan Hedstrom notched the clinching point.
Luuk Wassenaar at No. 6, Fran Tonejc at No. 5 and No. 1 singles player Alex Galoustian finished the competition with three consecutive wins in maintaining the shutout.
Coach Matt Brothers and his band have a formidable challenge at 4:15 p.m. Saturday when they hit the road to face No. 19 Notre Dame.
