
Men's Tennis Drops Road Trip Opener

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - DePaul's spring break trip to the Deep South got off to a bumpy start on Thursday.
The Blue Demons opened up against a talented Southern Miss tennis team and dropped a 6-1 dual match at the Southern Miss Tennis Courts.
Scoring for DePaul was freshman Luuk Wassenaar who prevailed over Mikhail Esipov from Uzbekistan 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
The win lifted Wassenaar's record in the dual season to 10-4 and the Netherlands native is now 13-8 overall. The Blue Demons are 12-7 in the spring season.
Southern Miss (13-3) has won nine of 10 and features a roster with players from India, Switzerland, Poland, Ecuador, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia and Uzbekistan.
Coach Matt Brothers and his players look to bounce back on Friday with a match at South Alabama (9-5) that is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
