Blue Demons Finish Up Spring Break Road Trip

MOBILE, Ala. ââ'¬" DePaul concluded its spring break road trip to the Deep South Friday with a 5-2 setback at South Alabama.
The Blue Demons (12-8) began the match dropping a pair of doubles matches at the Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts as the Jaguars went ahead 1-0.
South Alabama (10-5) proceeded to claim wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles. At No. 3, Boris Spanjaard put DePaul on the board with a 6-2, 7-6 (5) victory over Olivier Gingras.
South Alabama picked up the clinching point at No. 2 singles. Right after that, Tripp Tuff scored for the Blue Demons at No. 5 with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 decision over Santiago di Loreto.
The Blue Demons had opened up against a talented Southern Miss tennis team and dropped a 6-1 dual match Thursday at Hattiesburg, Miss.
Coach Matt Brothers and his players begin a four-match home stand on Friday, March 30 with a BIG EAST showdown against Xavier set for 7:15 p.m. at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
