Blue Demon season covers seven meets over three months

CHICAGO – DePaul cross country head coach Dave Dopek and the Blue Demon men's and women's cross country teams unveiled the 2018 schedule that showcases seven meets.
The 2018 slate begins out-of-state on Friday, Aug. 31 in Carmel, Ind. at the Butler Twilight. The Blue Demons then head north to Somers, Wis. on Sept. 8 to compete in the Vic Godfrey Open where both teams saw top-five finishes last season.
DePaul will head to one of the nation's most competitive meets the following weekend. The National Catholic Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14. The prestigious event sees over 25 institutions participate in the meet, including top NCAA and BIG EAST opponents. The Blue Demon squad will then head back to Chicago for the 41st Loyola Lakefront Invite on Sept. 28 and 29.Â
To close out the season, the Blue Demons will travel to Peoria, Ill. to compete in the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 12.Â
Championship season starts on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship in Carmel, Ind. The conference championship meet will host all 10 BIG EAST cross country teams.
The NCAA Midwest Regional will follow on Friday, Nov. 9 in Peoria, Ill.Â
