Golf Set to Open Fall Season

Blue Demons to compete at EKU Intercollegiate
CHICAGO - The DePaul golf team opens its 2018-19 season this weekend at the third annual EKU Intercollegiate sponsored by Raising Canes. The three-round, two-day event is scheduled for Sept. 15-16 at the University Club at Arlington Run Golf Club in Richmond, Ky.Â
The Blue Demons join host Eastern Kentucky along with Cleveland State, SIU Edwardsville, Northern Kentucky, UT Martin, Morehead State, Murray State, Ohio, Evansville, Eastern Michigan, California Baptist, Eastern Illinois, Marshall, and Longwood. University Club at Arlington features a 6,623-yard layout with a par 70.
A shot gun start is slated for Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ET and the teams will play 36 holes while 18 holes are scheduled for Sunday. Sunday's final round will begin at 9 a.m. ET with teams teeing off based on standings. Live stats for the tournament can be followed on Golfstat.
DePaul returns two of its top three performers from last season in Charlie Spencer-White and Joe McCarthy. Spencer-White finished sixth at the 2018 BIG EAST Championship followed closely by McCarthy in eighth place. The pair of Blue Demons finished the 2017-18 season with scoring averages of 75.70 and 74.35 respectively.
Following the EKU Intercollegiate, DePaul is back in action at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational, Sept. 24-25.
