1/29/2019 3:52:00 PM | MEN'S BASKETBALL
Doors open at 5 p.m. and complimentary parking available in Lot A with access to skywalk to Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – Due to the expected cold weather in the Chicago area Wednesday, the DePaul athletics department is opening the arena earlier than normal, offering complimentary parking in Lot A at McCormick Place and encouraging fans to utilize the pedestrian skywalk from Lot A to Wintrust Arena to avoid being outside for an extended period of time.
Doors Open Earlier
The DePaul men's basketball game against Villanova will be played as scheduled on Wednesday night at Wintrust Arena. The BIG EAST Conference game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the doors to the arena will open extra early at 5:00 p.m. to offer shelter from the cold to fans that are coming straight from work. Arrive early to warm up and watch warm ups!
Complimentary Parking
Due to inclement weather and safety reasons, DePaul will be providing complimentary covered parking for fans in Parking Lot A at McCormick Place (floors 2,4,5,6). The parking facility is connected to an indoor pedestrian bridge and walkway on Level 3 that takes fans with tickets directly into the arena. Level 3 is accessible via elevators on all parking levels. Fans must have a printed ticket to enter Wintrust Arena at the skywalk pedestrian bridge.
Please note, Blue and Red season ticket parking pass holders will be allowed to park on Level 3 for easy access to the pedestrian bridge with direct access into Wintrust Arena.
With severe cold weather anticipated, fans are encouraged to use extreme caution and should adhere to all weather and travel warnings issued by the City of Chicago and other local authorities. Those fans that are able to travel safely to the game are advised to arrive early and leave plenty of time for travel plans and parking.
In an effort to avoid having to stand outside while waiting to enter the arena, fans who already have tickets in their possession are encouraged to use the entrance at the Marriott Marquis on Prairie Avenue and access the arena through the pedestrian bridge to avoid the cold. All ticket orders left for pick up at Will Call will still need to be picked up prior to entering the arena at the Wintrust Arena Box Office located on Cermak Road.
Pre & Postgame Student/Fan Shuttle (Lincoln Park Campus)
For tomorrow's game, local fans and community members are invited to use the complimentary student bus shuttle service from DePaul's Sullivan Athletics Center on the Lincoln Park Campus (2323 N. Sheffield Ave) direct to Wintrust Arena. The shuttle buses will depart in front of the athletic center in Lincoln Park for the game at 5:30 p.m.
DePaul University students will be able to enter Wintrust Arena at any fan entrance by swiping their DePaul ID with a ticket representative and will then be issued a game ticket.
Postgame Fan Shuttle To CTA Trains
Guests can ride the complimentary postgame shuttle to the Green and Red Lines for tomorrow night's game. Interested fans should meet the shuttle host in the atrium entrance of Wintrust Arena immediately following the conclusion of the game. Look for the "POSTGAME SHUTTLE" sign. Ten minutes after the game ends, the host will walk fans to the shuttle staging area for transport to the Green Line Cermak Station and then the Red Line Cermak station.
Once again, please be aware of these extreme weather conditions and use caution when arriving safely to the event. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the DePaul Ticket Office at (773) 325-7526.
