Cross Country Sets 8 New Personal Bests at Bradley Pink Invite

The Blue Demons look to maintain momentum heading into conference meet
PEORIA, Ill. – The men's and women's cross country teams return from their last meet of the regular season at the Bradley Pink Invite. The respective squads were led by senior Noah Deck in the 8K and freshman Alexa Havon in the 6K red races.

The DePaul men's squad saw its two seniors, Noah Deck and Henry Harper, finish first and second among the pack with times of 25:25.7 and 25:28.6, respectively. The 8,000-meter race saw the Blue Demons take home the win over, among others: Bradley, Green Bay and BIG EAST rival Creighton. Clocking a spread of less than one minute, Ryan Bonfiglio (25:47.1 - PR), Ryan Taylor (25:51.7) and Dominic Bruce (26:24.8) rounded up the top five for the team.

Leading the women's pack for the second meet in a row was freshman Alexa Havon who clocked a 22:13.3 finish in the 6K on the Newman Golf Course, setting a new personal best. In fact, all point-earners for the Blue Demons set new PRs in the 6,000-meter contest. Rounding out the scores for the Blue Demons were Maret Elgren (22:41.7), Violet Harper (22:46.2), Margaret Hastings (23:02.6) and Olivia Borowiak (23:07.6). The squad's team score put them on top of city rivals UIC and Loyola, among other high level competitors.

Also earning new PRs at the meet were sophomores Chris Ahlers (26:31.7) on the men's side and Ericka Burgess (24:50.0) for the women.
