Max Strus Adds NABC All-District Honors

Senior guard named second team All-District by NABC
CHICAGO – DePaul's Max Strus was named today as a second team All-District honoree by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Strus was also named second All-BIG EAST prior to the league's conference tournament and was a first team Google Cloud Academic All-District honoree this season.
Strus leads the team with 19.3 points per game and 99 three-pointers this season. The 99 threes are a single-season school record at DePaul and he totaled 33 points and six rebounds in DePaul's first round win in the CBI over Central Michigan. Strus has scored at least 30 points in three of the last four games.
Overall this season, Strus has totaled 578 points which puts him at No. 11 on the single-season scoring list. In his two seasons on the court at DePaul, he has accumulated 1,009 points to ranked 45th on the all-time scoring list and his 180 career three-pointers are ranked third in school history.
The two teams of honorees for District 5 consisted of all BIG EAST players with Phil Booth (Villanova), Markus Howard (Marquette), Eric Paschall (Villanova), Shamorie Ponds (St. John's) and Myles Powell (Seton Hall) on the first team. Strus was joined on the second team by Kamar Baldwin (Butler), Alpha Diallo (Providence), Jessie Govan (Georgetown) and Sam Hauser (Marquette).
The Blue Demons continue CBI play on Monday night in the quarterfinals when DePaul hosts Longwood. Start time is 7 p.m at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
