DePaul No. 2 Seed in BIG EAST Tennis Championship

Blue Demons begin women's tournament with Friday's quarterfinals
NEW YORK – DePaul was seeded No. 2 in the BIG EAST Women's Tennis Championship that begins with Thursday's first round in Cayce, S.C.
Coach Mark Ardizzone and his Blue Demons will take the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center courts at 12:30 p.m. (ET) Friday for their quarterfinal match against the winner of Thursday's first-round contest between No. 7 seed Creighton and No. 10 Providence.
Also on Thursday, No. 8 Georgetown and No. 9 Butler square off with the winner advancing to face No. 1 seed Xavier in the quarterfinals. Both Thursday matches begin at 10 a.m. (ET)
Friday's remaining quarterfinal matches pit No. 4 St. John's against No. 5 Seton Hall and No. 3 Marquette against No. 6 Villanova.
The semifinals are set for 12:30 p.m. ET Saturday with the winners advancing to Sunday's 12:30 p.m. title match.
The winner of the BIG EAST Women's Tennis Championship earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Seeds were determined Monday by the conference's tennis championship and coaches' seeding advisory committee that review each team's regular-season schedule, ITA rankings, results against BIG EAST and common non-conference opponents and wins/losses against ranked foes.
No doubt the committee took into account DePaul's recent BIG EAST championship pedigree after winning three of the last five BIG EAST tournaments.
