Cameron and New Zealand Open FIBA U19 World Cup

New Zealand starts pool play against the United States on Saturday
CHICAGO – DePaul's Flynn Cameron and New Zealand open the FIBA U19 World Cup this weekend with three games of pool play in Greece. New Zealand faces the United States on Saturday, Senegal on Sunday and Lithuania on Tuesday. The Junior Tall Blacks qualified for the World Cup last summer with a runner-up finish in the U18 Asian Championship in Thailand.
This summer marks the fourth straight summer that Cameron has represented New Zealand in a FIBA event. At last summer's U18 Asian Championship he averaged 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists over seven games. At the 2016 FIBA U18 Oceania Championships, Cameron averaged 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in four contests. He followed that experience with averages of 4.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in seven games at the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup.
Cameron enters his sophomore season at DePaul after playing in 28 games during the 2018-19 season.
The Junior Tall Blacks are in Group A with Lithuania, Senegal and the United States. New Zealand faces the United States on Saturday, June 29 before playing Senegal on Sunday, June 30. Lithuania and New Zealand face off on Tuesday, July 2 and bracket play begins on Wednesday, July 3. All games will be broadcasted live on FIBA's YouTube channel.
