Ardizzone led program to five NCAA Tournament appearances over 23-year career
CHICAGO – DePaul women's tennis coach Mark Ardizzone announced today that he is leaving the program as head coach after leading the Blue Demons for the last 23 seasons. Ardizzone led the Blue Demons to five NCAA Tournament appearances including four of the last six seasons.
"I've devoted 23 years of my life to coaching and motivating young people in their paths toward athletics and academic excellence," said Ardizzone. "As part of that journey, I've been a part of many athletics successes at the conference and national level. While I take great pride in all of this, I believe it is time for me to embark on another journey and I'm looking forward to the opportunities ahead. I'd sincerely like to thank all my former players and their families."
Ardizzone and the Blue Demons made their first NCAA appearance in 2010 before returning in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019. He has been a BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year award winner five times including this past season after leading the second-seeded Blue Demons to the conference title.
DePaul will conduct a national search for the next head coach of the women's tennis program.
