Golf Wins Final Match Over Dayton

DADE CITY, Fla. – The DePaul golf team finished third in the eight-team Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play with a 4.5-1.5 win over Dayton. Nik Gatmaytan, Stephen Sul, Conor Glennon and Perry Chong all posted victories on Tuesday at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.

Gatmaytan posted a 2UP victory in his match while Sul was victorious at 2&1. Glennon won his match on the final hole for a 1UP victory and Chong closed out his opponent with a 4&2 decision. Noah Kolar played to a draw in his match for a half point while Campbell Wolf lost his match by a score of 9&8.

Drake defeated Eastern Michigan to win the event while Bowling Green topped Ball State for fifth place and Loyola-Chicago defeated Xavier for seventh place.

The Blue Demons return to action on Feb. 22 in Goodyear, Ariz. for the Loyola (Md.) Intercollegiate. The three-round, three-day event takes place at Palm Valley Golf Club.
