Men's Tennis Competes in Texas This Weekend

Open Friday against Texas Rio Grande Valley in H-E-B Tournament of Champions
CHICAGO – Coach Matt Brothers and his Blue Demons are headed to Corpus Christi, Texas for some high-quality tennis at the annual H-E-B Tournament of Champions hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
DePaul (3-7) will open up at 10 a.m. Friday against Texas Rio Grande Valley at the H-E-B Tennis Center. The Vaqueros are off to a 1-4 start with losses to Abilene Christian, Texas Tech and Texas A&M Corpus Christi twice. The win came against Laredo Community College.
The Blue Demons play a second match at 5 p.m. facing Troy (5-3) at the Henry Tennis Center. The Trojans have won their last three matches, upending Alcorn State, Florida A&M and North Alabama.
On Saturday, Brothers & Co. take on the host Islanders who have compiled an impressive 10-3 record featuring victories over Texas Rio Grande Valley, Texas-Arlington and Northern Arizona.
Christopher Casati enters the Lone Star State with a 13-8 overall singles record, 5-4 in the dual-match season. Boris Spanjaard leads the Blue Demons with a dual mark of 7-3 playing primarily at No. 2 singles.
The Casati/Spanjaard doubles team is 15-8 on the season and 4-4 in duals.
