DePaul men finish 12th, women 25th

PEORIA, Illinois – The DePaul men's and women's cross country squads closed out the 2021 regular season on Friday afternoon with a strong showing at the Bradley Pink Classic. Olivia Borowiak led the way for the women with a ninth-place finish while Dominic Bruce paced the men's team with a 26th-place finish.

Bruce paced the pack of Blue Demon men in the 8K loop. The senior turned in a 24:46.5 time to finish 26th while teammate Shane Knanishu placed 36th at 24:52.1. Senior Ryan Taylor took 80th after a mark of 25:17.2. Damian Rodriguez landed just outside the top-100 finishers at 105th (25:27.2)

On the women's side Borowiak finished ninth amongst 285 runners in the field with a 6K split of 21:13.0. Nina Amicon cracked the top-35 with a 33rd-place finish with a time of 21:43.8. Alexa Havon rounded-out the top-three finishers for DePaul with a mark of 22:56.2 (145th). As a team, the Blue Demons compiled 598 points and finished 25th out of 37 squads competing.

Three Blue Demons competed in the men's "White" Race with freshman Luke Orwig leading the pack with a 91st place finish at 27:45.4 and Tommy Elwood right behind at 92nd at 27:45.5. Andy Thompson finished 95th (27:47.0).

DePaul will take a week off to prepare for the 2021 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships set for Friday, October 29 in Carmel, Ind. At the Northview Church Course. Both the men's and women's races are scheduled to air on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports.
