Iaquinto Gets Split Decisions Saturday

Freshman counters with a win after dropping first match at Bulldog Cup
DES MOINES, Iowa – DePaul's freshman trio battled their way through day two of the Bulldog Cup Saturday hosted by Drake.
Matteo Iaquinto walked off the Roger Knapp Tennis Center with a split at the five-team tournament that also includes Wichita State, Northern Illinois and Omaha.
Iaquinto dropped is first match of the day to Oliver Johannsen of Drake by a 6-4, 6-2 score.
The native of Palermo, Italy bounced back in his second match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Jaydn Richardson of Wichita State.
Jona Gitschel came up short in both of his singles matches while Sven Moser lost his singles matchup.
In doubles, Moser and Iaquinto fell to NIU's Oliver Valentinsson and Kristopher Ortega by an 8-4 score.
They will wrap up the Bulldog Cup with one round of doubles and one round of singles on Sunday.
