Finish With a Flourish for Sven Moser

DES MOINES, Iowa – After a tough weekend where an illness sidelined one men's tennis player from the outset and an injury and illness impacted a pair of Blue Demons on Sunday, Sven Moser finished off the Bulldog Cup on an upbeat note.

The freshman from Bern, Switzerland rallied from a first-set deficit for a rousing 3-6, 7-5, (10-7) victory over Gabriel Sardo of host Drake.

"Sven had a great win over a good Drake player," said DePaul coach Matt Brothers. Sardo had gone 1-1 in singles and 2-0 in doubles over the weekend.

Earlier on Sunday, the DePaul doubles team of Moser and Matteo Iaquinto dropped an 8-4 decision to Oliver Johansson and Jeremy Schifris of Drake at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

Next up for Brothers and his team is the ITA Midwest Regional hosted by Michigan State with first serve on Thursday.
