
Kolar Leads Final Round Charge for DePaul

Noah Kolar records best round of collegiate career to finish in top five while team places fourth
WESTLAKE, Ohio – Noah Kolar turned in the best round of his collegiate career to lead the Blue Demons in the final round of the Tom Tontimonia Invitational. With the career day, Kolar moved 30 spots up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for fifth while the team jumped three places to finish in fourth place.
After playing even on the front nine, Kolar birdied four of the first five holes on the back nine to finish the day with a 67 (-4). He previously posted a career best of 70 on three occasions. Kolar finished the two-round event with a score of 141 (-1) following his first round score of 74 (+3) on Monday.
Artemiy Yalovenko followed Kolar in a tie for 26th while Alex Vekich and Nik Gatmaytan were in a group in 37th and Conor Glennon finished in a tie for 56th place.
Yalovenko recorded his second straight score of 73 (+2) for a total score of 146 (+4). Vekich and Gatmaytan posted tournament totals of 147 (+5) that saw Vekich with a 72 (+1) on Tuesday and Gatmaytan with a 74 (+3) in the final round. Glennon carded a 79 (+8) on his final circuit at Lakewood Country Club for a 36-hole total of 152 (+10).
Oakland claimed the team title with a score of 570 (+2) to finish six shots ahead of Dayton. The Blue Demons were just two shots behind third-place Purdue Fort Wayne with a team score of 579 (+11). Purdue Fort Wayne's Kasey Lilly earned medalist honors with a tournament score of 137 (-5).
DePaul's final event of the fall schedule returns the Blue Demons to Ohio on Oct. 18-19. DePaul plays in the Xavier Invitational at Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati to conclude the first half of the season.
