
Rachel Krasowski Tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

Hanna Karl selected to weekly honor roll after a pair of double-double performances
CHICAGO – DePaul's Rachel Krasowski earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors while Hanna Karl was named to the Weekly Honor Roll after the Blue Demons went 2-0 to punch their ticket the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time in program history.
The sophomore duo posted standout performances in four-set wins over Butler and Xavier as the Blue Demons extended their win streak to four matches.
Krasowski led the BIG EAST in digs over the weekend with a total of 55 to average 6.88 per set. The Orland Park, Ill. native posted back-to-back performances of 20+ digs with a match-high 27 in a four-set win over Butler on Friday followed by a 28-dig outing in Sunday's victory over Xavier. Krasowski ranks third in the conference in digs per set with 4.77 on the season.
Karl recorded a pair of double-doubles on the outside, averaging 4.25 kills per set at a .341 clip to go along 2.63 digs per set. The Carlsbad, Calif. native saw 16 kills and 11 digs against the Bulldogs before hitting .410 with 18 kills and 10 digs against the Musketeers. Karl ranked second in the conference in kills per set over the weekend.
DePaul's 17 wins in the fall of 2021 are the most in a single season since 2001 when the Blue Demons advanced to the NCAA Tournament and recorded 24 wins.
The Blue Demons will host Villanova and Georgetown at McGrath-Phillips Arena for the final weekend of the regular season Nov. 19-20. First serve against the Wildcats is set for 7 p.m. while Saturday's matchup with get underway at 6 p.m. Both matches can be seen on FloSports.
