From Head Coach Marie Zidek: "Nothing good ever comes easy. This team had to dig deep to get that one. Seton Hall has been trending up as the season has gone on with their offense and it showed tonight. Emma had another big night on the slide and our middles dialed in their middles well. Our outsides really won by committee tonight. Meredith came in and made some key receptions that allowed our offense to heat up in that 4th and 5th set. Dennemann came in and had a nice tool kill. Hanna did a great job of delivering an all-around game while Jill provided the big time kills at crunch moments. Rachel fought for a key dig series in the fifth set, and our right sides were play makers down the stretch.
On a night where we faced a very hot and stubbornly competitive team, we had to dig deep to gain momentum that 4th set to send it to the decisive 5th set. And in decisive 5th sets, I'd take this team 100% of the time."
Up Next: DePaul will hit the road once again to take on Butler on Friday, November 12 and Xavier on Sunday, November 14. The Blue Demons will square off with the Bulldogs at 10 a.m. CT from historic Hinkle Fieldhouse before taking on Xavier at 1 p.m. at the Cintas Center.
