Day One Complete at Hawkeye Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The first two rounds are in the books for the Blue Demons at the Hawkeye Invitational as Noah Kolar and Conor Glennon led the squad on Saturday. The final 18 holes are set for Sunday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Kolar is tied for 42nd after turning in rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2) on Saturday. He is followed by Glennon in a group in 49th who finished the day with scores of 73 (+1) and 79 (+7).

Glennon's first circuit at Finkbine Golf Course of 73 matched Artemiy Yalovenko's second round for the best rounds of the day for the Blue Demons. Yalovenko opened the tournament with an 81 (+9) and is tied for 56th place after two rounds.

Perry Chong is tied for 61st and Nik Gatmaytan is in 65th place after 36 holes. Chong carded rounds of 79 (+7) and 77 (+5) while Gatmaytan finished Saturday with scores of 83 (+11) and 78 (+6).

Host Iowa holds the top spot on the team leaderboard with a six-stroke lead over Kansas. The Blue Demons are in 12th place behind Drake. Iowa's Alex Schaake holds a five-shot advantage in first place after two rounds.
