14 Blue Demons Earn All-BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Team Honors

Mackenna Orie earned women's most outstanding field performer
CHICAGO - DePaul track and field had 14 student-athletes named to the BIG EAST All-Conference list for their performances at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships last weekend. DePaul's Mackenna Orie earned women's most outstanding field performer after winning the shot put and finishing second in the discus.
On the track for the DePaul women, Tori Caroll earned three All-BIG EAST certificates after winning the 100m dash and finishing second in the long jump and the 4x100m relay. DePaul's Kiersten Walker also earned three certificates by finishing second in the 400m and the 4x100m while placing third in the 200m dash.
In the field events, Rebecca Chouinard earned all-conference recognition by winning the women's hammer throw.
Finally, Esther Aldana and Bella Uscila collected All-BIG EAST honors by rounding out the Blue Demons squad in the second-place 4x100m relay group.
On the men's side, Ashton Colaire claimed three All-BIG EAST certificates by posting a silver medal performance in the 110m hurdles and helping the Blue Demons to second-place and first-place finishes in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, respectively.
DePaul's 4x100m relay, made up of Colaire, Adam Nelson, Brendan Van Voorhis and Kyle Mastrangeli finished second. The group all earned all-conference honors for the silver-medal performance. Nelson also finished second in the 100m dash.
For the gold medal 4x400m performance, Jarel Terry, Van Voorhis, Colaire and Ben Lee all received ALL-BIG EAST honors. Terry also logged a second-place finish in the 400m dash.
In the field events, Ben Litwin and Alex Murray both earned all-conference honors. Litwin finished third in the hammer throw and Murray earned a bronze medal in the shot put.
DePaul will have a handful of student athletes compete at the NCAA West Region Preliminaries on May 27-29. The official field of competitors will be announced later this week.
