Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Distinction

All nine student-athletes earn Scholar-Athlete award
CHICAGO – DePaul women's tennis was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Monday as All-Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete certificates were announced.
Coach Marisa Arce's program compiled a strong showing in the classroom once again as the Blue Demons have earned an ITA All-Academic Team Award for the 14th year in a row after posting a team GPA of 3.93. College teams with a 3.2 GPA or higher were recognized.
Along with the highest cumulative GPA, the Blue Demons posted the best Spring Quarter GPA of any squad with a 3.95 mark.
Individually, all nine student-athletes on the women's tennis team---Lenka Antonijevic, Aspasia Avgeri, Hristina Djokic, Marija Jovicic, Yuliya Kizelbasheva, Alina Kuzmenkova, Valentina Martin, Kaya Rand and Maddie Yergler were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes with GPAs of 3.5 or better.
ITA student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2020, a total of 1,505 Division I women student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 210 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
