Blue Demons Top Illinois State 3-1 in Exhibition Match

DePaul closes out preseason with victory over 2020 NCAA Tournament participants
NORMAL, Ill. — DePaul volleyball closed out preseason preparations strong with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 29-27, 25-23) exhibition win over Illinois State on Saturday afternoon at Redbird Arena.
Despite dropping the first set, DePaul rallied to win the next three frames to clinch the match.
Both squads mixed and matched lineups during the four-set affair with 13 Blue Demons seeing action on the court.
Sophomore Jill Pressly led the way with 14 kills, including seven in the third set, to go along with 15 digs. Bailey Nelson chipped in 10 kills from the right side at a .333 clip. Rachel Krasowski collected a match-high 17 digs while freshman setter Ashley Cudiamat dished out 27 assists.
The Blue Demons proved to be a dominant presence at the net totaling 15 blocks led by middle blockers Donna Brown and Aly Kindelberger.
DePaul will open the regular season on Friday, August 27 at the CEFCU Invitational in Peoria, Ill. DePaul will take on SEMO at 3 p.m. CT before facing Central Michigan and Bradley on Saturday.
