DePaul Finalizes Non-Conference Schedule

Blue Demons to open season with eight straight games at Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – The DePaul men's basketball team has finalized the 2021-22 non-conference schedule with the addition of a matchup against Duquesne. The Dukes are set to visit Wintrust Arena on Tuesday, Dec. 7. DePaul will also face Montevallo in an exhibition game prior to its Nov. 10 season opener.
Montevallo – alma mater of DePaul's director of athletics DeWayne Peevy – makes the trip to Chicago on Thursday, Nov. 4 for an exhibition game. Following that exhibition contest, the Blue Demons open the season with eight straight games at Wintrust Arena.
The Blue Demons open the schedule with games against Coppin State (Nov. 10) and Central Michigan (Nov. 13) before Rutgers makes the trip to Chicago on Nov. 18 as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The Blue Demon Classic brings three opponents to the South Loop in Western Illinois (Nov. 20), Northern Kentucky (Nov. 26) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 28).
Loyola Chicago takes the short trip from Rogers Park to Wintrust Arena on Saturday, Dec. 4 before DePaul and Duquesne meet on Dec. 7 in the final game of the season-opening homestand. The Blue Demons and Dukes square off for the 28th time, but the first time since the 1990-91 season.
The non-conference schedule concludes with a three-game road trip that opens at Louisville on Friday, Dec. 10 before local away games at UIC on Dec. 14 and Northwestern on Dec. 18.

- Head coach Juan Dixon is entering his fifth season leading the program.
- DePaul holds a 4-0 advantage in the all-time series... the Blue Demons posted an 88-75 win in the last meeting on Nov. 26, 2019 at Wintrust Arena.
- Central Michigan is located in Mount Pleasant, Mich... the Chippewas are a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
- Central Michigan was 7-16 overall last season and tallied a 3-13 record in MAC play.
- Head coach Tony Barbee enters his first season at Central Michigan in 2021-22.
- Rutgers leads the all-time series, 7-4... the Scarlet Knights won the last meeting, 66-59, on Nov. 17, 2016 at Allstate Arena... that matchup was also part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games.
- Rutgers is located in New Brunswick, N.J. and is a member of the Big Ten Conference.
- The Scarlet Knights were 16-12 overall in 2020-21 and 10-10 in Big Ten games.
- Head coach Steve Pikiell will be in his sixth season at Rutgers in 2021-22.
- The series is tied at 1-1... the two sides are meeting for the second straight season.
- Western Illinois won the first game, 72-69, on Dec. 9, 1989... DePaul posted a 91-72 win on Dec. 23, 2020 at Wintrust Arena.
- Western Illinois is located in Macomb, Ill. and is a member of the Summit League.
- The Leathernecks were 7-15 overall in 2020-21 and 5-9 in Summit League games.
- Head coach Rob Jeter will be in his second season at Western Illinois in 2021-22.
- First meeting between the programs.
- Northern Kentucky is located in Highland Heights, Ky. and is a member of the Horizon League.
- The Norse posted a 14-11 overall record last season including an 11-7 mark in Horizon League play.
- Head coach Darrin Horn enters his third season at Northern Kentucky.
- DePaul and Eastern Michigan meet for the first time since the 1979-80 season... the Blue Demons are 4-0 all-time against the Eagles.
- The last meeting was a 57-55 decision at Eastern Michigan on Dec. 19, 1979.
- Eastern Michigan is located in Ypsilanti, Mich. and is a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
- The Eagles went 6-12 overall last season and 3-11 in the MAC.
- Head coach Stan Heath is in his first season leading the Eastern Michigan program in 2021-22.
- DePaul holds a 38-18 advantage in the series... the two teams are meeting for the first time since the 2012-13 season... Loyola won the previous meeting, 69-61, on Dec. 29, 2012 at Allstate Arena.
- Loyola is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.
- The Ramblers went 26-5 overall last season and 16-2 in Missouri Valley action.
- Head coach Drew Valentine is in his first season leading the Loyola program.
- Duquesne leads the all-time series, 14-13... the Blue Demons claimed the last meeting, 75-62, on Jan. 26, 1991.
- Duquesne is located in Pittsburgh, Pa. and is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A10).
- The Dukes posted a 9-9 record overall last season and 7-7 mark in the A10.
- Head coach Keith Dambrot is in his fifth season at Duquesne.
- Louisville leads the all-time series, 38-21... the Cardinals claimed the last meeting, 79-58, on Feb. 27, 2013 at Allstate Arena.
- Louisville is located in Louisville, Ky. and is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
- The Cardinals posted a 13-7 record overall last season and 8-5 mark in the ACC.
- Head coach Chris Mack is in his third season at Louisville.
- DePaul has won nine of 11 meetings between the programs... the Blue Demons posted an 86-65 win at Wintrust Arena in the last game on Dec. 14, 2019.
- UIC is a member of the Horizon League.
- The Flames posted a 9-13 record overall last season and 6-10 record in Horizon League games.
- Head coach Luke Yaklich enters his second season at UIC in 2021-22.
- DePaul leads the all-time series, 21-14... the Blue Demons knocked off the Wildcats, 83-78, in the last meeting on Dec. 21, 2019 at Wintrust Arena.
- Northwestern is a member of the Big Ten Conference.
- The Wildcats posted a 9-15 record overall last season and 6-13 record in the Big Ten.
- Head coach Chris Collins begins his ninth season at Northwestern in 2021-22.
2021-22 Season Ticket Information
- Fans and supporters interested in joining as new season ticket holders for the return of DePaul Basketball can now place $25-per seat season ticket deposits for the 2021-22 men's and women's basketball seasons.
- New deposits will act as commitment to priority seat selection taking place later this summer and will be applied to the cost of full season ticket packages due in the fall. By placing a deposit early, fans will gain access to the best seat locations and the ability to work with a personal ticket representative to choose their seats prior to the public on-sale date. Ticket package pricing and priority seat selection details will be announced at a later date and communicated from the DePaul Ticket Office.
- Renewing season ticket holders from 2019-20 or account holders that elected to carry-over 2020 summer payments do NOT need to place a deposit at this time. Existing season ticket holders will be contacted by the DePaul Ticket Office when the renewal period is announced.
